Our team of experienced high school and primary school teachers offers a range of choices to suit the needs of individual students.
All of our teachers are experienced and fully qualified. Many have decades of experience in NSW schools. Many of our Maths teachers also teach Physics, Chemistry or Biology.
Our underlying philosophy – promoting independent, confident learning.
A key teaching approach that makes learning relevant involves metacognition – understanding the thinking involved in various problems and how and why one might use specific strategies to solve problems.
This approach to learning empowers students by enabling them to develop their own strategic thinking techniques. Use of online resources to enable students to review specific problems and techniques.
Approachable teachers who connect well with students and build confidence as well as skills and insight .
Group problem solving develops cooperative skills and effective group dynamics which are important both as learning opportunities and as real life skills.

Lessons are held online, in your home, in the teacher’s home, public spaces such as libraries.
We work with small selected groups or individual students, this allows us to connect with the children in our care and to enhance their individual progress.
We have had a lot of success in recent years with small group lessons held in family homes. Students from the local area can then avoid driving long distances and can work in a friendly, relaxed environment.
The host parent receives a discounted rate as thanks for sharing their home. The teacher drives to the home and this cuts stress, traffic congestion and frustration for all involved.

Arrendell Secondary Education Centre is made up of a team of skilled, experienced teachers. Our backgrounds range from Primary and Infant teachers, Remedial specialists: ESL teachers, Experienced Senior High School teachers, and HSC markers.
We have access to the shared experience of teachers who have written the current syllabus, English Head Teachers, teachers who have had significant roles with student welfare, and teachers experienced in dealing with multicultural issues.
These skills and strengths are shared with the families who work with us.
One of the most important reasons behind our students’ success in nearly 50 years of operation, is the care we take to discover students’ individual needs and our efforts to place them with the right teacher.
Children come in all shapes and sizes, and their abilities and dreams are diverse. While the school education system and school teachers have attempted to make learning more student-centred, they are limited by the sheer volume and diversity of children in a class.
